To help furnish and equip a newly renovated hospital, Inros Lackner hilft e. V. arranged a shipment of hospital beds.
Inros Lackner has been implementing projects in the Republic of Congo-Brazzaville since 2008. Our non-profit association “Inros Lackner hilft” now supports the “Fondation Rosalie Matondo pour le bien-etre de tous”, which works to improve the well-being and quality of life of the Congo’s population.
A new hospital is currently being built in the rural Luomo district (near the town of Boko, approx. 85 km southwest of Brazzaville). The renovation work on the province’s birth centre has been completed but the work on the hospital is still ongoing. In particular, equipping the new hospital remains a challenge.
To address this, we declared our willingness to help. We purchased 35 hospital beds in Germany, which were shipped to Pointe-Noire via the port of Antwerp. The shipping company BOCS from Bremen was engaged as a partner for the initiative, providing free sea transport of the beds – including the organisation of waybills and customs clearance in the destination port of Pointe-Noire.
The official opening of the hospital took place in February 2022 with the beds now immediately helping the recovery of the sick of the region. With this initiative, we are proud to have made a small but important contribution to the medical care of the people of the Congo.
